What I have learned through my experience with skincare is that you don’t need a ton of products, nor you need to pay a ton of money to get your skin balanced and healthy looking. What you actually need is products with simple clean natural ingredients that fit your skin’s needs at the time. I have also noticed the fewer products I managed to use on my skin, the better results I’ve accomplished.
Here I’d like to make a little detour by saying that in my point of view, looking for truly natural ingredients in your products does not mean following the trends. It is not a trend, it is waking up. It is also necessary. It is vital for us to end chemicalizing our bodies and to realize that it is essential for us to be mindful with everything that absorbs within our bodies.
My skin had been problematic for the longest time and I had been trying to get it back to normal with numerous products and treatments… What did make a difference though was slowly introducing in my daily regimen products with cleaner plant-based ingredients. For over two years I have been treating my skin with such products and today I could proudly say that I don’t have problematic skin anymore, I have a normal one :)
Here are the products I use in my everyday skincare routine currently!
Lavera Basis Sensitiv Cleansing Gel with organic lemon balm and organic mallow. It is a gel facewash that is clear in color and has a slight refreshing lemon smell. This mild gel I use daily and only in the evening to gently clean my skin from make-up and impurities that have built up during the day. It leaves my skin revitalized and helps a lot with sustaining its healthy complexion.
Once or twice a week instead of the Lavera gel I would use a gentle scrub. The one I use currently is Alverde Apricot and Calendula Scrub which has its own dedicated post – Alverde Apricot and Calendula Scrub. Pleased with its gentle exfoliating properties, I have been purchasing this particular product of Alverde over and over again.
To remove my eye make-up I have found that oil works best. I have tried many different oils for this purpose and they all work just fine. Jojoba, olive and calendula oils are my personal favorites. What I have been doing recently however is using my face oil (yes I use oil on my face! :)) to remove the traces of make-up on my eyes.
When you think about it the skin around the eyes is so delicate that it surely needs this extra care to preserve its best look for as long as possible. Using a small amount of my face oil on a cotton pad that has been slightly damped in warm water, I carefully remove what has been left of my eye make-up.
Once that is done, I damp lightly my face with warm water and put few drops of Wooden Spoon Anti-age Immortelle Elixir. This is my night-time face oil. Immortelle extract, rosehip oil, evening primrose oil, rosemary extract and vitamin E – these are the ingredients that work wonders for my skin restoring its glow and youthful look. It is never too early to start your fight back the skin aging especially with such beneficial ingredients.
In the morning I use Maat Oily Skin blend from the SPA Maat product line of Ecomaat Bulgaria. This is the first oil I ever dared to put on my face and I have been using it religiously since then. I cannot begin to tell you how incredible this blend is… The active ingredients in it are petitgrain, patchouli and lavender essential oils. It has excellent antibacterial, skin balancing and toning properties!
Last but not least in both my morning and evening rituals I use Alva Sanddorn Eye Cream for dry, normal and aging skin with sea buckthorns extract. This is a new addition to my skincare routine and I have been enjoying it very much. I’ve noticed my skin around the eyes looking fresh, hydrated and firm.
Once a week I try to use a face mask and the one I have been using recently is the ayurvedic Khadi Vetiver Face Mask. Vetiver is known for its skin balancing, exfoliating and anti-inflammatory properties.
If you would like to have an in-depth look at any of the products or brands mentioned, let me know and I will do my best :)
